Potentilla erecta or tormentil is a healing plant that belongs to the Rosaceae family. Rich in tannins, it boasts numerous properties: astringent, hemostatic, bacteriostatic, anti-diarrheal, soothing and decongestant. Tormentil is also recommended for menstrual pain, to soothe fever and abdominal cramps. Known since the dawn of time, this natural remedy is also used at the intestinal level. In addition to fighting diarrhea, it has a powerful antibacterial action, annihilating bacteria that can cause dysentery. Potentilla erecta is also useful for minor injuries of the oral cavity, such as aphthae and ulcers, or gingivitis and stomatitis.
