It is a plant endowed with expectorant, emollient and anti-inflammatory properties, which are mainly carried out at the level of the airways; bechic and expectorant action.
The above activities are mainly attributable to the mucilage and saponins contained within the plant itself.
Mullein is also attributed diuretic, diaphoretic and antihemorrhoidal properties.
