Commiphora myrrha

It is used for its preservative, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, disinfectant, and antiseptic properties and for the treatment of infections of the upper respiratory tract, including coughs and colds, because of its specific expectorant properties. Myrrh tincture is a specific remedy for gingivitis, pyorrhea, aphthae, stomatitis and tonsillitis; it can also be used for the dressing of abrasions, wounds, skin ulcers, furuncles and acne. It also turns out to be an effective antioxidant that enhances antioxidant mechanisms and immune defense mechanisms.
